Bohemian Gravity

Even particle physics can be fun, especially when McGill University physics graduate student, Tim Blais, put together this fantastic video on string theory using the tune of Queen's Bohemian Rapsody. Blais made some previous internet fame last year when he released a video titled "Rolling in the Higgs" describing the Higg's Boson set to the tune of Adele's "Rolling in the Deep".

Science is everywhere.

Science is the tool that lets us describe the mysteries of life. As humankind has developed through the ages, so has our understanding.

In the beginning we observed our world with only our eyes, through which we came to understand that the sun rises and falls, earth is made of dirt which is made of smaller dirt particles, apples fall when they are dropped, etc.

Eventually we invented: telescopes, microscopes, oscilloscopes, spectroscopes and hundreds of other scientific instruments. We begun to understand that the way the earth moved around the sun was what caused the sun to rise and set. Not only was dirt made of smaller dirt, but it was made of smaller particles yet, which we called atoms. There were forces in the universe that not only caused objects to fall (gravity), but caused charges to repulse or attract, as well as the weak and strong forces that effect small particles.

It is important for all of humankind to embrace the effects of science on our society. Hopefully, through this Blog, I can show you that science is important, its subjects diverse and its ever evolving.
